Maggie Airedale
Airedales Maggie at 8 weeks

Allow me to introduce Maggie (Dotendav Bracen- DOB 09.01.02) She is my first ever Airedale, and brought much happiness to our family. One thing is for sure - I could no longer imagine my life without an airedale!

Maggie has been hipscored, and got a very good low result of 9.

See Maggie's pedigree here.

Airedales are a really fun breed to own. They are clowns dressed in a big cuddly bear's fur. They are strong willed and free thinking, so they require firm upbrining if you want trouble free ownership. They are absolutely ideal for families with children - they adore them, and their patience is endless! You will never be bored as long as you got an Airedale by your side.

They are very intelligent dogs and easily trainable, but one must never forget the fact that they are terriers - they will never be a 100% reliable like your labradors.

For breed standard and grooming advice see my links.

Maggie's weaknesses:

- No matter how much you explain that no, there are definately NO mice/rabbits etc hiding under your neat lawn, flower beds etc, she just HAS to double check she hasnt missed anything until your garden looks like a bombsite.

- Tissues/hankies! She has a fetish for them, and our family simply cannot have a cold, becasue as soon as you get a tissue out Maggie is there with her pleading eyes: Please can I have that, please, please. Regardless of punishement, she will take them out of waste bins even if you standing right next to it! We have got to the stage of using really deep bins she cant get to the bottom of, and in desperation she started nicking them out of the tissue box! (Well, unused they dont taste quite as good, but still, they better than nothing...)
